Currently a PhD design research student at Brunel University, School of Engineering and Design, London, Priti’s research focuses on woven electronic textiles (e-textiles) through design led and empirical based investigations of combining electronics into constructed woven architecture. The research intentions are to use woven methods to make multifunctional soft circuits as an integrated and simultaneous process, using in-depth woven knowledge and design led processes. The research aims to extend the barriers of woven construction for soft circuitry and enhance these functions for more design considered outcomes by exploiting woven structures.
Priti previously trained as a textile designer at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, London, specialising in woven textiles. She has exhibited previous work internationally and has worked in textiles industry professionally as a designer, consultant and an academic lecturer. Alongside her research work, Priti is an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, (UAL) London, where she teaches on the BA Textile Design Course and also teaches at Brunel University.
