Anna-Marie Solowij is an eminent beauty journalist with more than 25 years experience writing for prestige magazines and newspapers. Her career began at Marie Claire in 1988 followed by six years at ELLE as beauty director. She was editor of Harvey Nichols magazine for three years followed by tandem positions of deputy editor to internationally renowned fashion journalist Sarah Mower at The Fashion and fashion and beauty director at Bare, edited by influential interiors guru Ilse Crawford. The highlight of Anna-Marie’s career was the position of beauty director at Vogue which she held for six years. Four years of freelancing followed during which time she was a columnist for the Financial Times, a contributing editor to Vogue and a brand consultant.
Anna-Marie currently writes for the Financial Times How to Spend It and is a contributing editor to The Gentlewoman as well as being co-founder of BeautyMART, the disruptive retail concept in Harvey Nichols, Boxpark, Topshop and online. Anna-Marie has won many industry awards including the Jasmine Best Visual 2004, and the Jasmine Literary Awards 2005 and 2006.
